“My life is in these books. Read these and know my heart. We are not quite novels. We are not quite short stories. In the end, we are collected works.” ― Gabrielle Zevin, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry
The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin is a book for book lovers. It follows the life of a somewhat grouchy bookstore owner in a picturesque small island town, though his life circumstances to this point are quite the opposite. What Mr. Fikry never imagined was how quickly his life could change through one found little package in his store.
Through love and loss, the reader gets lost in the world Zevin creates. It is a novel you cannot put down, but do not want to be over so soon. Overall, it is a great story, quick read, and has a lot of literary name dropping.
