First, I'd like to say that if you are a librarian or work in libraries in any way, you should check out the Dewey Decibel Podcast. Presented by the American Library Association (ALA) and hosted by American Libraries Senior Editor Phil Morehart, the show takes a weekly look at the library industry, its trends, and where it is all headed. It is incredibly informing and a great way to stay up on what is happening in the Library and Information Science field.
This week's episode (#37) was a look at Artificial Intelligence in Academic Libraries. This is a very relevant topic as we see more and more machines in the workforce and though I knew they were coming, I was unsure of what part they would play in the library. This is a very interesting talk with two academic librarians on how AI is used in their libraries to further research and student education. Very interesting indeed.
