International Archives Week Prep

Writer's picture: Christine AndersonChristine Anderson

I really want to promote all of our archival collections here at CCU for International Archives Week in June. I reached out to our Historical Archivist, University Archivist, and Digital Archivist for recommendations on interesting things to share from the collections. I also want to highlight the difference of each for students, faculty, staff, and community members that may not know. To lead up to IAW, I've started running #ThrowbackThursday pictures of historical photos of this area found in our digital archives.

So very glad I have been working on digital photo correction, because several of the pictures I would like to use are in poor condition. I'm still no professional, but improving all the same.

The Historical Archivist had a great recommendation of running both the original picture and the cleaned up version to show people the difference. That way it is still easy viewing on our social media, but history buffs can still see the original if they'd like.
